Dog Days of Summer

So as it is so ridiculously hot in Austin these days (105 degrees...so lame) my poor pooches are having to stay indoors a lot more than they would like. So i've been trying to pamper them a little more than usual! I got this fabulous book, Baking for your dog, last year as an attempt to try and start being more domestic.

Chloe loves having treats made for her! :)

This book features amazing recipes using season ingredients (such as pumpkin in fall...) Anyways I decided to share the recipe for Chloe and Maxwell's FAVE treats in the book. (i've adjusted the original recipe) but they seem to like them better now. They are super easy to make, and I promise your little pups will be super thankful! Let me know your comments! :)

Chloe & Maxwell's SuperTreats
(makes about 30-35 treats)

7 tbsp wholewheat flour
7 tbsp coarse rolled oats
2 tbsp oat bran
2 eggs
5 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
5 tbsp finely diced ham
6 tbsp water

*mixed all ingredients together w/water to make a smooth dough. Cover and let the dough rest for about 30 mins. (I always put mine in the fridge just to speed up the time a little bit)*

*Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet w/ parchment paper*

*On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2 in thick, and cut into 1'' squares. Place these on the baking sheet and bake for about 25 mins, until they get slightly golden brown. Turn off the oven, and let the treats harden for another 30 mins-1.5 hrs.*

*Store the treats in a paper or linen bag (or airtight sealed container). The treats will keep for approx. 4 weeks*

Happy baking lovies,
xoxo

Why Hello House of Harlow!

So as most of you know I am a huge fan of the always amazing Nicole Richie and her fab 'boho chic' wardrobe. She made a huge impact with her clothing line winter kate. Now shes hit the big time again with her amazing jewelery and accessories line House of Harlow. She combines retro 70's oversized baubles with morroccan and other world influences. I'm extremely impressed with this new line. Especially this amazing Abalone Cocktail Ring.

There are also some really cool head accessories available by House of Harlow. The price point is very reasonable, and while you could always go vintage shopping for the real thing, this is for the girl that definitely is on the go and just doesn't have the time!

This is another fabulous piece from the line. This Gold Texture Cutout Cuff is so versatile and could be worn with anything from a t shirt with jeans and a vest, to a super flowy maxi dress. I love the textured metal which has enough detail to definitely make it a statement piece, but with it being cut out you could always layer it with more! The piece retails for $85, and is a great piece to add to your collection!

Here is just another fabulous addition. These are the Sasha Sunglasses! How can you not just love the oversized shape, and then the chain sides, and tassles! Omg! These are definitely going to have to be in my sunglass collection soon, and should be in yours too! My bia Kel is going to love these. And at $115 that makes them even sweeter!

Peace out lovies,
xo

Perfect Pedi

So as I'm sure most of you have experienced, sometimes it is incredibly difficult to find a great nail studio that you can actually relax at while still being at an affordable price! Well if you still haven't found one, I am now answering your prayers. It is called EMBELLISH NAILS. From the amazingly super girly pink decor (which of course I love) to the oversize brown suede chairs to the very friendly and professional staff.

The staff is incredibly nice and welcoming, and they have cucumber water, sodas, candy, and mimosas as added extras while you're getting pampered! Embellish offers an amazing selection of polish colors from OPI, Essie, and Butter London (personal fave). During the summer I tend to always choose outrageously bright colors, usually pink, however today i opted for these gorg Butter London colors to layer on my toesies.

Embellish also has a lovely area in their nail salon with adorable gifts! They have everything from unique cards, to handbags and cute clothing, to jewelry from local designers! They have 2 locations; one in Westlake and one at the Triangle development. Its a great space to have a girls party, which they do! Check out their site for more info. I suggest making an appointment; however, they do take walk ins!

Prices for mani's start at $20, and pedi's at $35. They also do 'Shellac' there as well. Do yourself a favor and make yourself or your friends an appointment at Embellish. I promise that you wont be disappointed,
and you will definetly thank me later ladies.

Tie Dye Hair! OMG!

So as of recently i've been rather obsessed with B. Spears hair in her 'I Wanna Go' video as she has cool streaks of pink and orange. I tried the whole pink streak thing, and it was a little more Avril Lavigne (Sk8er Boi) than tres chic.

However my FABULOUS hairstylist, Zoraima had amazing dip-dyed hair this morning, and immediately i was obsessed.

This look has been seen in many variations from the Nicki Minaj crazy cool colored hair that reminds me of a pack of sweet tarts

To the ever stylish Rachel Bilson who has amazing bleached out ends in the true spirit of everything California surfer hair, which is a much more everyday way of trying out this seasons newest hair trend.

So in the birthday spirit, I have decided to go with the colored dip dye using pink and blue. I will post pictures tomorrow, however here you can learn to dipdye @ home, check this out (courtesy of thebeautydepartment.com) to get the cool edgy look.

Please send in your dip dye pictures!! :) Thanks lovies!
Time to go pop some bottles.
xoxo,
J
